Jenn Rawling & Basho Parks - April 26, 2013
Perennial favorites, Jenn Rawling & Basho Parks, return to the Three Springs Barn this April to help us welcome in the spring season (come on, spring!). They’re excited to share with us songs from their newly released album, Tarantula Arms.
Of Tarantula Arms, they’ve written that it “...is a landscape of songs collected through our travels. Emotional tales of struggle and triumph mixed with our love of nature, these songs are sung with heart and subtle harmonies, layered with strings upon strings.”
Jenn and Basho are a perfectly complimentary musical couple. His violin backs her vocals wonderfully, and she backs up his truly entertaining stage stories. These two are making a name for themselves across the country. They put on an incredible tour in 2012, including a featured live performance on WPR’s Simply Folk. In May, they’ll take their music and new album across the big pond.
It has been less than a year since Jenn and Basho provided the inaugural concert in the Three Springs Barn and helped us initiate what has since become a bona fide music establishment. We’re very happy to have these two musicians return to play the barn as friends. Let’s welcome them back and give them a packed house!
If you’ve missed Jenn and Basho at an earlier show, learn more about them at their website and check out this review of their debut album, Take the Air.
To attend this show, it is necessary to RSVP to milesdog@tds.net. Seating is limited, so it is necessary for us to keep an accurate headcount. (Turning away pop-ins is awkward for everyone.) Doors open at 7:00 with music starting at 7:30. $10 suggested donation at the door. BYOB for the communal beverage tubs. You are welcome to bring a light snack to share too.
