Town Mountain - June 4, 2013
No kiddin’ folks, an honest to goodness bluegrass band from North Carolina--Town Mountain--will be playing the Three Springs Barn, as one of only two Wisconsin stops on their current tour, and we’re very excited to host them! Town Mountain is a rising star on the current bluegrass scene, as the folks at Putumayo have noticed, including them alongside Alison Krauss, David Grisman, Sam Bush, The Seldom Scene, and others on their new Bluegrass release. Like others, we first stumbled on Town Mountain when we heard their cover of Bruce Springsteen’s song, “I’m On Fire” (which inspired us to buy their album, Heroes and Heretics). That was a couple of albums ago and these guys have apparently done nothing but pick up steam! Their two most recent albums, Steady Operator and the latest, Leave The Bottle, have received great reviews from the likes of No Depression and Bluegrass Today. There is no doubt, these guys will put on a high energy show! So reserve your seats early and prepare for some serious toe-tapping music. To let you know what’s in store for the evening, check out this rousing video of the band performing a tune from their latest album and check out their website for more details.
As always, your seats need to be reserved in advanced by RSVPing to Milesdog@tds.net. We’ll open the doors at 7:30 with music to start at 8:00 PM. We’re asking for a donation of $15 for this show (there are 5 band members folks, you do the math!) For returning concert-goers, you know the drill, feel free to bring beverages for the communal wash-tubs and snacks to share if you’d like. Bluegrass in a barn on an early summer’s evening...what could be better!SaveSaveSave
