Kris Delmhorst - Saturday, December 15, 2018
I stumbled upon the music of Kris Delmhorst somewhere around 2003, and I’ve been a fan ever since. She’s a fantastic songwriter and there’s just something about her voice that grabs me. See her live and you’ll agree. Oh, and she’s fun. Here’s a little gem from some years ago, featuring one of my favorite songs of hers (and a few folks that Three Spring Barn regulars will recognize); ignore the video quality, just close your eyes and enjoy the banter and the song. Jumping forward in time, from her album Blood Test, here’s a beautiful rendition of her song, Homeless. Kris’ work has garnered great press over the years, and that’s true of her latest album, The Wild. Here’s one from that album, Foolish Blood.
Joining Kris for this evening of music will be fellow Massachusetts musician, Sam Moss. Of Sam Moss, the good folks of NPR have said, “Few fingerstyle guitarists have made the transition to singer-songwriter mode as gracefully as Sam Moss." The Boston Globe adds these adjectives to describes his music: “Marvelous, resonating, magnetic stillness.” What more can we add? Check out ‘Rust’, to see what Sam will be bringing to the stage.
Doors for this show will be at 7:00, with music at 7:30. We’re asking $20 for this show. As always, bring cash to pay at the door. And newcomers, you must RSVP to reserve your seat for the show. (Regulars, you should know the drill by now.) BYOB for the communal washtubs and a snack to share if you’d like. There just may be snow on the ground for this show, and that’s fine by us. If that’s the case, we’ll have a path shoveled from the road to the barn for you and it’ll feel festive. Looking forward to seeing you in December.
