Kaia Kater - Friday, March 29, 2019
3/26/19 - SOLD OUT
We will maintain a waiting list
We're incredibly excited to host Kaia Kater at Three Springs Barn this spring. Kaia grew up in Montreal, the daughter of an immigrant from Grenada, and went to school in West Virginia to study Appalachian music. Her music blends the varied aspects of her background, as the daughter of a Caribbean immigrant in Canada, and her own musical tastes--shaped in part by attending old-time music festivals as a child--into a wonderful blend that seems perfectly prescient for our current moment in time. From banjo instrumentals, to solo rhythm and voice, to the full-band sound featured on her song New Colossus, Kaia has created a wonderful breadth of music. To learn more about her background and see the great press she's received from the likes of NPR, CBC Radio, BBC Music and Rolling Stone, visit her website.
Watch her March 13, 2019 performance on NPR's Tiny Desk Concert.
For this Friday night show, we're asking $20 cash at the door, which is a bargain for this rising star. As always, you must RSVP to reserve your seats for the show. Doors open at 7:00, with music to begin at 7:30. BYOB for the communal washtubs and a snack to share if you'd like. We suspect a full-house for this show, so don't hesitate to reserve your seats. Please join us for what is sure to be an incredible night of music in the barn.
